Nam Yui Chul makes his UFC debut, faces Kazuki Tokudome at TUF: China Finale

A Lightweight bout has now been penciled in for the UFC’s return visit to Macau, China.

UFC’s latest Korean import Nam Yui Chul has wasted little time in getting matched up. The Team Posse affiliate will be welcomed to the Octagon by Kazuki Tokudome.

Sources close to the situation confirmed the news with Fight Sport Asia in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Nam Yui Chul (17-4-1) began his career in Mixed Martial back in 2006. And has since then become a staple for Korean MMA.

The fighter dubbed “The Korean Bulldozer” had an excellent year in 2013, after successfully winning & defending the ROAD FC Lightweight crown against the man he took it from, Takasuke Kume.

Now in the UFC, Nam aims to make a name for himself. And his first hurdle begins with Japanese grappler Kazuki Tokudome.

Kazuki Tokudome (12-4-1) made his mark on the Asian MMA scene fighting under the Pancrase banner before signing with the UFC.

The 26-year-old went on to face his Octagon jitters in March of last year squaring off with Brazil’s Cristiano Marcello. Tokudome went on to win the bout via Unanimous Decision.

After a successful debut, Tokudome was then paired with TUF winner Norman Parke. However, after a three round battle Kazuki went on to lose a Unanimous Decision.

As a new year begins, both men will be itching to start theirs off the right way. One to get back in the win column, and the other to make an immediate impact on his promotional debut.

TUF: China Finale is scheduled for March 1st at the Cotai Arena in Macau, China.

Here’s how the card looks thus far:

Dong Hyun Kim vs. John Hathaway
Ivan Menjivar vs. Hatsu Hioki
Kazuki Tokudome vs. Nam Yui Chul
